When I saw this:
..over at this blog, I thought to myself - Wah, this fella’s gonna get screwed *SO* badly man.
Why so?
From what I’ve *heard* from friends who’ve been to the UAE and certain other countries in the Middle East, they base their courts on religious beliefs - meaning that, religion takes precedence above all (care to correct me if I’m wrong?).
And that introduce several points for discussion, but that’s beyond the scope of this article.
Then, they also mentioned about the death penalty being applicable for quite a few other things - If I recall, in Dubai, you can get your hands chopped off for touching a lady - or something like that. And in Saudi Arabia, you can get executed with a knife to your throat infront of *EVERYONE* in public - in the town square, I think.
I think they call this execution, literally. Head-knife-floor.
So, there’s already in thread in STOMP for this, but no matter what, I’ll say he’s screwed big time if he’s convicted - maybe loss of one arm, or one leg, or something… but who knows? I’m no middle-eastern law expert =X

It’ correct, some of the countries in the middle east uses the Shariah law.
But countries like Saudi Arabia…………… Is not practicing pure Islam. They practice a corrupted brand of islam, called Wahhabi-ism, so.
Some stompers say they might get whipped.. If Abu Dhabi is practising pure islam, then it’s nothing, because in whipping, the armpit cannot be exposed. It has to stay closed during whipping. So go figure out how painful is that.

You only get your hand/s chopped off for robbery,and that is also depending on the case itself.It’s not exactly you rob = straightaway gets hand chopped off.In this guy’s case,it might actually go very badly for him.Rape is already considered to be really horrendous and against the law,but in an Islamic country,he better pray real hard.
Anyway,Luqman,what are you talking about?Saudi Arabia not “practicing pure Islam”?Don’t generalise.There are people there that follows Islam the way it should be,and not,as you said,the “corrupted brand of Islam”.

@lukman… well it is tru that dubai’s govt is not so pure islam but they do respect true islam rite… just becoz the person who hold the govt is not islam…. but we cant judge people because of the country…
well any way there is a 89% possibility that the guy will be sentence to death either by stoning, or a good way of punishment after zina in malay it is called “sula”… but in english i cant recall what is it.. but the procedure is a stick will enter from the asshole and will exit from the stomach
