Now, now. Some of you might start rumours saying Yandao.com has viruses, backdoors, trojans, and what the hell. I’ll tell you straight – AGAIN., if you don’t trust me, DON’T use ANY OF MY SERVICES, DON’T USE ANY OF MY PROGRAMS, and DON’T ASK ME TO FIX YOUR LAPTOP WHEN IT GETS SCREWED.

Paraphrased: If you don’t like me, find your own ways to play your LAN games in RP’s campus, and don’t use anything I make. Period.

Perhaps, you are the type who believes nothing good comes free – like the very Gahmen we are familiar with re-emphasizes over, and over again.

Congratulations – you’re a realist. You do not believe there’s something called unconditional giving, and honestly, it turns you into something… well, go figure. Now we finally understand why our taxes are considered “low“.

Then again, there are quite abit of people who actually *do* appreciate things, one of them happen to be someone I happened to know quite a while ago, and of course, he’s one of the regulars who hang about the site.

How much is THAT above, worth? Can you buy a relationship (or rather, the start of a relationship) with money? Is this a value-added service that a simple, ordinary blog startup, like, Yandao.com can provide?

Now, now, I’ll write something else in a while, to follow up on evaluation, and of course, the next post will be about something…. shiny.

Okay, for those of you who have requested it, and bugged me day, night, and morning for around 5000 times each day. We’re moving the website to my local server (local as in Singapore).

The speeds should be considerably faster than the US one, since after all, 5gb of traffic each day comes from Singapore….. therefore…

Ah well, commenting is disabled ON THE OLD SERVER for the next 48 hours while the server moves! (that also means if you *can* comment – you’re already on the new one!)

…as for me, I have my very, very sweet Lafina. =)

Both me, and my darling’s (Lafina) birthday are coming up.. 26th and 20th of April respectively (remember to buy presents, hor). Hence, she’s been nagging requesting for a birthday gift far before I even started typing this.

I had a sudden brainwave and gave her the following clues as to what I am going to give her:

Clue 1. Measured using 2 hands and obtained results of around 34 to 40, though darling insists its 36. – One cannot measure it with 1 hand alone.

Clue 2. Measurements has 3 dimensions (a.k.a 3 measurements)

Clue 3. Comes in multiple colours for daily usage. My darling prefers black.

Clue 4. Sometimes put on at home, but most of the time ignored, and not.

Clue 5. Can be seen lying around the house at times – unused.

Clue 6. When outside of house, always put on, to protect “it”.

Clue 7. Can be purchased in major shopping malls (including boutiques, designer stores, specialty stores) from various major labels – or you can get from pasar malam at a cheap price.

Anyone care to guess what this is? (nono, it’s something *clean*)

I guess, as with any site, the inevitable has come.

All good things must come to an end – I suppose you would understand that, as an individual, of course. (*nods* That means if you’re representing an [*cough* government *cough*] organization, with a fancy title, position, and the bells and whistles – you probably can’t fathom that. Sorry – that’s the brutal truth.)

Though, it’s not yet time for Yandao.com to come to an end, rather, it’s just the beginning.

Hence, as of April 4th, 2007 – Kelvin, the sole maintainer (cum* updater, cum developer, cum designer, cum everything else..) of Yandao.com, is hereby declaring the following major changes in structure, hierarchy, and collective, er, property.

ONE: Yandao.com will no longer a sole *cough* “project”
Yandao.com used to be a website, a massive project, or a mini-community hoarded by me, the very evil Kelvin. Really – this has to go to an end. I know my ideas are overly extreme, scary, and at times, silly – but it’s probably time for that to change. I will *still* mantain a small blog on personal thoughts, and feelings, and crappy articles, but the mainstream page will be reserved for well-thought out articles written by… [please refer to next point]

TWO: Yandao.com will take on a community-driven approach. Anything there’s a demand for – we supply. Economics 101 (or was that Business 101?)
…by the community. Correct. Now we’re taking in people – people who can write, people who can talk, people who can film, people who can draw, people who can do *ANYTHING*. Hell, each of us can do something we’re good at, and working collectively, I’d say no [organization] will stand a chance

THREE: We’re recruiting, everyone!
