fredrik: true true. the controversy of the government. first they tell us to learn new skills, be good at more than one thing. then they tell us to specialize, and concentrate.

same thing with our educational system. first they diversify, then they specialize. when it comes to our last year in school, make us find ways to diversify again.

but then again, maybe they're only trying to help us adapt to changes lah, cannot blame, right?

jack of all trades, master of none

a "theory" that has been used to cater to the public to stick to what they are good at for centuries, however if we ALL stick to what we are good at then we wouldn't be versatile right? if we stick to the fish business when the business is failing then we'd all die because we do not have enough money, and no money means no food.

With singapore being such an ever changing society, being versatile and changing to the situation at hand is important. Like PAP, when people don't vote for them, they die, they no food to eat, that why they have to change their policy all the time in order to keep the public happy, and to not "shoot" them that much.

But then again i know what you are saying, knowing where you stand, if you're a fish monger, don't go into the cow industry, another "mad cow disease" scenario might occur. Though with that said upgrading should always be prioritised right?
