Breakfast with Love

Posted by Kelvin in Everything

Okay. So, one night, I suddenly decided that my Lafina was really sweet, and that I should make *something* for her, since after all, I was going to fetch her from her place in the west side, to school, here, in Woodlands. (yes, I too, stay in Woodlands).

I then set off on my quest to ask for ideas. Woohoo. *Crowd is supposed to cheer, “Go! Kelvin, Go!”*

Okok, nevertheless. The hour was quite late, and only Beatrice and Audrey were online. I do think I’m in luck, actually, since both of them *too* are lovingly attached, and could help me with coming up with really, really, “innovative” ideas. Then again, I settled on the breakfast idea, because I know Lafina will be hungry in the morning, for sure.

Beatrice suggested rice in a heart shape. My initial reaction was somewhat the form of a question mark, like, er, this: Undecided <– Yes, this. Audrey suggested big breakfast (Yea, I know the name is trademark-ed by McDonalds, hence I have to disclaim the capitalization of it), eggs, hash browns, pancakes and all.

Actually, now I know why she can qualify to be “manly” during one of the many silly skits we had in class for presentation instead of our usual powerpoint slides – the “manly” food. =X Yes, I still remember the stick-on mustache you had. Sheesh.

Okay. Now I had a small problem. How do I mix eggs, with rice, and hash browns, and put them into a heart shape?

Ideas formulated almost after a 3 minute lag – due to the cold weather lately. But I suppose I’m hot-blooded enough, so it does warm things up, doesn’t it? My idea was…

Was…

Was…

To sleep, and wake up at 6 in the next morning and go shopping at the supermarket just 3 minutes walk away. (at this point, you are expected to “echo” something like.. “Wow, lucky Kelvin, he has a supermarket 3 minutes away!”). Unfortunately, or not, sleep passed too quickly, maybe because I was *really* looking forward to making Lafina breakfast:

Yes, I got up at 6am. It’s a really great achievement, for someone who sleeps 18 hours a day, okay? Must encourage me by throwing flowers, be it chrysanthemum, lilies, roses, sunflowers, or even sunflower seeds. As long as it’s edible, can already

Of course, since Kelvin is beyond the class of “auntie“, he wouldn’t bore you with supermarket photos – rather, with cooking shots, of the frying pan. Hur hur hur hur… and the prawns.

food4.jpg food5.jpg

First, of course, fry the meats, and boil/steam the prawns, since prawns are actually considered, meat, too.

Then, (remove everything) and break an egg into the pan, pouring in the cooked rice before the egg gets cooked. This way, the egg gets cooked “into” the rice, providing the interesting taste. As usual, add salt and pepper as desired.

Keep frying it, and add the vegetables last, since they get cooked quickly. For more colour, try ketchup and chilli sauce; together with a dash of soya sauce.

Now… Once everything *is* cooked.. Comes the challenge: MAKING RICE LOOK LIKE A HEART!

but, Kelvin, here, tackles it:

Er, wait. Where’re the hearts? – Try clicking on the photo, to see a larger copy if you can’t catch them here, or simply, refer to the next photo, duh.

Can YOU see it? (the heart shape?)

Auntie Gloria: Oops, I should have packed a little more so Lafina could da pao some back for you. Sure sure, I’ll cook slightly more next time :)

Haha. I can try to do my best, but still have alot of room for improvement to be a chef for gathering, I think.
