Reputation

Woohoo. The http://yandao.com/photo/ link has been growing super fast. Let's look at the amount of hits for… This month, ever since that website was launched: 4928 hits for YESTERDAY itself, Thursday! And I haven't counted today's – Friday! Whoa. That's alot to me, seriously. (ok, that hits referred to the photo website, my main page, slight rise, but we shall see ;) )

Edit:

Oh, after referring to Google Analytics, it seems that there are around 618 pageviews, so, on the average, YOU GUYS/GALS actually did around 8 searches EACH. WHOA. Who were YOU looking for?

Edit #2: Oops. 618 was for Thursday, and for THIS blog, Yandao.com, not the photo site… For the photosite, Friday was around 4,415 views. Wow.

Anyways, I also figured that people were reading, from what I heard from my friends, but few actually tagged or commented… Ah well, if you like the articles, then I'd be more than glad to keep writing, as in, sticking to the older theme =X Still, thanks – to all the guys/gals who spread the link to those they knew. A BIG THANKS! Without *YOUR* help, I'd be stuck with 0 hits.

Okay, also probably time I should get back to the theme: Reputation

What's with it, anyway? Isn't reputation something only high flyers have? Or perhaps that somewhat striking person (Read: Attractive) who always seems to get everyone – be it in your class, in your cliques, or maybe, even anywhere he/she goes – things just *tend* to go their way? Then suddenly you realise, wow, they have a great reputation everywhere – everyone knows them!

Wait, let's stop for a moment here. So, in order to get a reputation, you need to be Mr or Miss Perfect? Need to have great looks, great talent, or well, great features? HELL, NO. ANYONE CAN GET ONE.

Those currently in denial of themselves will then proceed to ask 3 questions, namely: "What!?", followed by "How?" and then "Cannot be?". Right.

Then, the school starts teaching us about personality types, how some personality types can attract others, and how we can all work together – using the DISC Test Method , which is sooo widely used by companies who're willing to spend in interdepartmental relationships. What the school didn't teach, however, was that you can change your personality, or at least, seem to, *very* easily. You don't need training, nor do you need experience, nor some expensive self-help book.

What you really need to do, right NOW, is to start believing in yourself. That's right:

Believe In Yourself

… for everything you do – that's right. EVERYTHING. Don't feel bad because you did something, rather, try to justify inside yourself how you thought when you did it. For example, if you just shouted at the facilitator in class, people would see you as defiant to authority; but how do you see yourself when you did that? Maybe that facilitator was overbearing and unreasonable? Thus it was your RIGHT to do so?

Turn everything negative which people *might* think about you, into your positive points. You are always right, because, you are already who YOU are… and when you believe in yourself, only then will others believe in you – believe that what you do is correct, and in turn SUPPORT and RESPECT you, for what you have done. Simple little things, simple little actions – such as why others laugh at your joke and not your friends' even though its the same joke!

Think about it.

You've all along known about the solution, you just didn't want to apply it!

Pfft, enough with the philosophical stuff for you all to think about and perhaps, apply, if you like it.

I've been getting sooo much traffic lately, and suddenly, everyone knows me, yes, in real-life (RL) too. People actually come up to me and say, "Hey, that yandao.com SLASH photo website right, is my friend's friend create one leh! His name is Kelvin, same as you!"… I would then reply politely, of course, that I'm the Kelvin who did that =X

Then suddenly I meet people from all over, SA, EMP, Speak.Republic (SLA's in Republic Polytechnic, equivalent to CCA's, which are activities designed to keep us busy by the school) whom know me, but I don't really recognize. How come they all know I'm Kelvin? The faces seem reminiscently familiar, but I can never remember names, not male names, at least. Nor Chinese names, too.

Oh, and yea. Why does EVERYONE seem to recognize this shirt? I get at least 5 people each time I wear it identify it from where I bought it…

I don't know. Maybe I'm getting some sort of a "reputation" here? Heh. Go figure, you all.

Also, for those guys/gals who labelled me BHB at the url of this blog, read the older posts. Maybe you'll understand how others think after reading them, and how a guy who has the capabilities to "play" actually thinks. :) If you still don't get it then…. well… MSN me @ hot_wired13 [at] hotmail.com, yea?
